Dear Passion Pursuers,
December is here, and I’m feeling extra generous this month! Let’s get right into gift giving! Can you tell I was the kid asking to open presents on Christmas Eve because I didn’t want to wait until the morning? Well, not much has changed.
My gift to you is a Christmas short featuring Thorne (with a visit from Sebastain and Rosalia, in case you are missing them as well).
Then I have a fun stocking stuffer—checking out the gorgeous covers that didn’t make the cut in The Bourbon Bet.

Thorne’s full story continues in the next Blackstone Billionaires novel, coming March 2026. Watch for the exclusive title reveal and more about his book in January’s newsletter
Now that you’ve spent some time with Thorne, I want to pull back the curtain on how The Bourbon Bet came to life
The road to The Bourbon Bet‘s cover wasn’t a straight path – and I want to take you behind the scenes!
My vision was specific: I needed a cover that felt unmistakably mine – the illustrated style you know and love from my other books – but something that set this bourbon-soaked world apart. After all, the Blackstone family lives in Kentucky, (one of the other places, besides MI, I’ve called home) and that needed to shine through.
I wanted readers to look at it and immediately think: Billionaire. Bourbon. Southern charm.
My cover designer was incredible and created several gorgeous options, but they weren’t quite hitting that sweet spot. Then she delivered the cover you see today (and might even own!). It was instantly right.
This cover gets more compliments than any book I’ve published. The colors, the elegant yet approachable vibe of the watercolors, the way it whispers “Kentucky luxury” – it all came together perfectly.
But I’m curious… what do you think? Was it the right choice, or should I have gone with one of these instead?

Hit reply and tell me which one speaks to you – and if you’re feeling extra generous, let me know what you think about this:
Should I do an alternate cover for “The Bourbon Bet”?
Until next month, I hope everyone’s days are filled with love, lust, and laughter.
